The Paganini Trio is unique in the world. Their all-encompassing repertoire includes all the best music written for the violin, viola, and guitar. Joseph Gold, violin; Debbie Dare, viola; and Jaume Torrent, guitar launched the Paganini Trio in 2000 at the music festival at Schloss Matzen, a romantic castle in the Tyrolean Alps.
Their success was immediate. Subsequent concert tours include concerts in Austria, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Italy, and the United States. From the music of the Baroque and the genius of Paganini, to the newest compositions of Jaume Torrent, audiences and critics have acclaimed the Paganini Trio.
Jaume Torrent, guitarist
For many years, he led the famous guitar quartet known as the “Quartet Tarrago.” Most recently, he was “President of the Jury” at the internationally acclaimed Subiaco Competition in Italy. Sr. Torrent has pioneered a technique to maximize the expressive potential of the guitar, better integrating it into ensembles and orchestras without amplification.
Jaume Torrent is a world-renowned guitarist and composer from Barcelona, who has performed extensively throughout Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Russia. One of Spain’s most important musicians, he attended the prestigious Conservatorio del Liceu, where he studied with famed guitarist Tarrago.
